9 Reasons to Join OPEESA

OPEESA is the Outdoor Power Equipment and Engine Service Association. Our membership includes more than 140 distributors and manufacturers of outdoor power equipment and air-cooled gas and diesel engines. Our mission is to assist our members in achieving outstanding channel performance through:

  • High Quality Pertinent Annual Meetings
  • Benchmarking Top Industry Issues
  • Growth/ Member and Consolidations
  • Membership Education Programs

To fulfill our mission, we offer a wide range of services and programs as well as opportunities to share ideas with fellow distributors. In addition, we foster cooperation and proven leadership among manufacturers, distributors and dealers in the outdoor power equipment industry.

1. Improve the productivity, profitability and performance of your business. Seminars, conferences and other OPEESA-sponsored educational opportunities help you better manage your business and develop strategies to meet distributor challenges. OPEESA University was created to help meet these needs.

2. Join a nationwide network of manufacturers, distributors and dealers committed to the industry. OPEESA is committed to promoting the "value-added services" provided by distributors to manufacturers, dealers and end-users.

3. Advance the profession - Channel Leadership. The independent distributor is the unifying link between manufacturers and dealers. OPEESA will continue to play a major role in the creation of efficient, secure and profitable marketing channels, thus making outdoor power equipment highly attractive to the ultimate consumer.

4. Exclusive "members-only" services and partner programs. OPEESA partners with key vendors to provide our members with discounts and special access to unique programs and products.

5. Exclusive "members-only" area on the web site. The member directory, state dealer protection laws, Technician Certification Ad and more, are available to our members.

6. Government lobbying. OPEESA is a member of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW). This Washington-based association is a powerful voice representing our interests.

7. Networking opportunities. The Annual Membership Meeting provides numerous opportunities to learn from your fellow distributor, manufacturer and OPE service members through a structured format and social network.

8. Promoting and enhancing the need for skilled service technicians. OPEESA partners with the Equipment & Engine Training Council (EETC) to provide opportunities for technicians to earn certification. This benefits dealers, distributors and manufacturers, as technology is becoming more advanced and customers are demanding more from servicing dealers.

9. Resources to keep you informed about trends in the marketplace and industry news. Our  newsletter, "OPE In-The-Know," keeps you informed about key issues and companies in the outdoor power equipment industry.

Our month e-news bulletins remind members about educational opportunities, upcoming events and industry news that could impact members' businesses.
